A: You must enable indic languages in regional-options in control panel. For tamil, it also helps to get a font file. In addition, enable selected languages in your browser (e.g. IE) through internet-options...languages.
Q: I don't see shipping costs.
A: Shipping cost is $1.50 per item. It will be added while making payment by google checkout, or in confirmation page for paypal.
Q: Which is the difference between google checkout or paypal?
A: Google Checkout is faster because fewer number of pages need to be clicked through in our site, and you don't need to register with our site for payment. Your login and password will be created automatically. Both google-checkout and paypal can be used for credit card payments. Paypal is useful for those who don't have a credit card and would like to pay into our email address.
Q. My payment not going through paypal.
A: Simply pay into paypal in favour of info@hindubookshop.com and send email to this address with details on what book you ordered and we will take care of the rest.
Q: I paid into paypal but I did not get any confirmation from your hindubookshop.com.
A: Email us payment info and we will fill your order.
Q: The status shows Completed in my account. Does that mean item has been shipped\?
A: Once the item is shipped it will be changed to Shipped. The status Completed means your order process is completed. It awaits action from our side.
Q: I see status preparing paypal ipn
A: You have not completed payment. If you have done it and the status is not changed to pending or completed you may kindly email us an alert.
Q: I get php errors
A: You may want to enable cookies and add the site to your trusted list. You can also send us what error you got and we will try to fix them.
Q: Can I order books in Indian rupees?
A: You may try paying through your credit card and if the payment gateway accepts it (based on approval from your bank/ credit card institution, then everything is normal. If not, you may email us for details on how to send the payment.
Q: I need a book not listed here.
A: Pl contact us with the details. If the book is in print you are guaranteed to receive one.
Q: The shipping costs appear linear. Why not lower them for additional books\?
A: The shipping costs include package, insurance and handling. These are hard to reduce for additional books. The remaining costs have been averaged out to the present cost. Sometimes one of the books ordered may not be immediately available. We do not hold on to the remaining books pending its arrival. We ship available books and then follow up with the pending ones later.
Q: I am a vendor. Can I get my catalog listed?
A: You may email us with your credentials and contact info, including your phone number. You must prepare a catalog as per our specifications, in the MS-excel format.
Q: Can I send a check for a book?
A: The overheads of processing a check does not permit us to enable this option at this time. However, if your order is worth more than $100 (or Rs.500 not including shipping) we will accept your check. The addresses for sending check in US dollar and Indian rupees are different.
Q: What is your policy on refunds?
A: For books damaged on shipping we replace them at no cost. Beyond that, refunds or compensations are dependent on individual situations.
